The Side Letter is an independent website focused specifically on private markets.
We report on macroeconomic and policy developments, crypto, AI, big tech, and the PE/VC ecosystem in general. Though our coverage mostly focuses on the United States, we also work to bring you stories and scoops from all over the world.
Why did we choose to focus on this niche area? Easy – because we’re passionate about it. Private capital markets and their adjacent ecosystems are absolutely vital in today’s world, yet they are extremely misunderstood. One of our primary goals is to help educate the general public about private markets and the role that they play in global finance.
We are proud of being independent. We are not owned by a billionaire, and we do not have any political agenda. While some of our writers inevitably bring their personal views into their reporting, we believe this is a good thing – as it makes our content more authentic.
Unlike many other niche publications, we do not charge readers to access our content, and we pledge never to do so. However, if you enjoy our content and would like to make a contribution, we would be extremely honored and grateful. Because our business model does not involve any subscriptions or paywalls, we do work with advertisers – this ensures that we can continue with our work sustainably. That said, our have a strict policy of ethical reporting, and we will always label any advertiser-sponsored content so that our readers can differentiate between this and our regular editorial content.
If you would like to consider advertising with us, please visit our advertisers page or contact us directly for a no-obligations discussion.
